Forspoken fails to credit localizers, quality assurance testers

The prophesieddeveloper Luminous Productions’ latest action-adventure romp, fell short online after failing to fully list the localization and quality assurance teams.

Published by Square Enix, The prophesied is an action RPG with many moves in an open world. You play as Frey Holland, a New Yorker who is transported to the magical world of Athia where evil sorceress queens rhyme with enough frequency to probably write an entire rap album. The game has received mixed reviews from critics, with a score of 68 on Metacritic and 69 on open critic. But it’s not easy The prophesieds Whedon-esque dialogue that has angered the internet.

“In The prophesiedyou can find monsters, magic, cool skills… but not good credits,” tweeted audiovisual and video game translator Yasmina Casado González on Jan. 24, as first noted by The gamer. “For whatever reason, you didn’t credit the entire localization team, [Luminous Productions]? I see a huge list of companies/subcontractors, but almost zero individual names…”

In their tweet is an image of The prophesied‘s credits, with subcontractors such as Dynamo Pictures and Opus Studio Inc. named among only four individual people (three for the localization division, one for the QA division).
