Dating apps have made it possible for singles to meet hundreds if not thousands of people with just a few swipes. A problem with this, however, is that it is difficult to make a great match in such a large group. Niche dating apps are popping up for this particular reason, one of which is campaigning for users “fuck vegans,” literally: grazer.
grazer is a UK based dating and friend finder app for vegans and vegetarians. Founder Lewis Foster started creating the app in 2016, according to an interview with Metro, and it renamed last November for World Vegan Day. Now Grazer touts himself as the “meatless matchmaker.”
Grazer isn’t the first plant-based dating app; there is also Vegetarian, VegPaland TofuTogether, to name a few. But Grazer is making this Veganuary all the rage with their “fuck vegans” campaign RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Bimini claims:
It’s not surprising that vegans and vegetarians want a dating app for themselves. Every dater wants a partner with shared values — and green dating, or wanting to find a partner who is as environmentally conscious as you are, has blossomed in recent years. Whether Grazer ultimately trumps the other eco-based apps, however, remains to be seen.
